No goths today

Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka One of the most popular directors in the dark underground scene is Tim Burton, creator of films such as “Edward Scissorhands”, “The Nightmare Before Christmas” and “Sleepy Hollow”. Therefore you would not expect people being refused at the cinema because they are dressed like goths. But that’s precisely what happened at an advance-screening of his latest work “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory“.
Dave Canfield, contributor to twitchfilm.net, wrote an open letter to Tim Burton to express his concern about the way the new film is being marketed. As someone commented, “Goths banned from a Tim Burton movie is like somebody dressed as a Jedi being banned from a Star Wars film.”
