had a dinner invitation in haarlem. couldn’t resist to pay a quick visit to the nearby plaatboef. for some reason this recordstore is nicer than the plaatboef in utrecht. they were playing the sound when i entered, which always earns you bonus points on my list.

i was still in the golden oldie mood, so i bought some fair-priced secondhand stuff, including r.e.m. (’document’, with 6 bonus tracks), sonic youth (compilation ’screaming fields of sonic love’, with into the groove), talk talk (the recommended, tranquil ’spirit of eden’) and modern english (’life in the gladhouse’ 12″).
