Though I’m perfectly happy with my Technics and Thorens turntables, some people may crave for an easy way to digitalize their vinyl collection. For them ion’s iTTUSB USB turntable may be a desirable tool. Another option is the TEAC GF-350 set, which let you burn vinyl playback directly on cd.
Another new development is the ELP laser turntable, which plays vinyl records without a needle! I wonder how that sounds…
I planned to skip this years’ edition of the WGT. The line-up didn’t look very spectacular, and I visited quite a few events abroad already. But the program is getting more attractive: Orplid (their first and perhaps only concert!), Novy Svet, Neutral, Parzival, Apoptose (first live gig), Propergol, Seelenthron, Land:Fire, Cyclotimia, Spiritual Front, Seelenthron, Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio, Echo West, In The Nursery and quite a few more. Do I have to travel to Leipzig after all?
The news on the Joy Division/New Order front just not seem to stop ever. A new book, dvd, cd and records will keep the fans busy…

The people of The Show Live made a name by offering high quality recordings of complete tours by The Pixies and Dead Can Dance. They now offer a new DCD mp3 of The Ubiquitous Mr. Lovegrove, live in Washington in October 2005.
