In 1998 Dirk Schlömer (formerly of Ton Steine Scherben) formed Stella Maris together with female singer Raphaela Hermes. They released a self-titled album in a style they called ‘mystery pop’, a mixture of pop with ethnic elements, dark wave and sacral music. Later they performed under the name Das Zeichen. Now Schlöme has released a second Stella Maris album, with new mystery pop sounds. Not with Hermes, but with other singers, like Alquimia, Kerstin Blodig, Louisa John Krol and Dirks young daughter Maria. “To The Promised Land” contains a musical journey through all great cultures and religions.
