Anti Trust is a project that has been around for a long time. Already in the 1980’s several tapes were released. Musically Anti Trust’s sound is somewhere in between minimal elektro and NDW.

While the older releases had a charming lo-fi sound, this new work is characterized by a much cleaner sound and thick beats. These beats even sound quite modern at times. What has stayed the same is the melancholy new wave mood in the songs.

Highlight of this new cd is an older song ‘Brennendes Land’, which was already present on an old tape and an Invasion Planète compilation LP, both in different versions as here. The song is extremely catchy and an absolute hit. Other catchy pieces are ‘Black Water’ and ‘The Reprisal’.

I am not sure if all people who liked the old sound of Anti Trust can appreciate the new modern touches in the music. But, I am sure a modern audience will like these songs a lot.
