Eisbrecher - Antikörper
in electro, Reviews
What I seek in music is energy, deep, moving vocals that would attract my attention, lack of obvious musical solutions and ravishing sound combinations and tonic treats that attract attention and make the album one of a kind. I always appreciate when the artist makes an effort to create something unique and at the same time dynamic and ravishing without falling into worn out patterns and obvious, well-known DJs hocus-pocus. That is why if there are albums where one wants to give 10/10 this is definitely the case with the new production of Eisbrecher.
Eisbrecher is a German electro/industrial band that was formed in Germany in 2004. Since then they’ve been successfully making music to please the taste of even most choosy fans of the genre. Their recent album ‘Antikörper’ is a very good one, for it holds both a dose of emotions and hard-hitting, overwhelming musical force that may tear you apart on the dance floor. Vocal is both monumental, like in the track ‘Vergissmeinnicht’, and emotional: it contains a kind of harsh tenderness like in ‘Ohne dich’. It’s not loud, in fact it doesn’t need to be; the power of voice is overwhelming and its strength and appealing force are unbelievable.
‘Vergissmeinnicht’ is a marriage of choratic background with the harsh, ominous, heavy leading vocals line, ‘Adrenalin’ contains harder, stronger vocals and melody, ‘Der Anfang’ features purely melodic tracks while the title track ‘Antikörper’ has the quality of the spy melody, the tank-like as well as it goes forward with an effort, it’s like a stomp. At the same time the vocal seems vicious, ominous, warning. My favorite track ‘Leider’ is the one where the band shows the talent to put the sounds together in such way to produce a chart-topping hit. Both danceable, rhythmical and greatly mastered, extremely ‘catchy’, suiting the electro maniac’s heart with the perfectly balanced pace.
All in all, the German electro formation Eisbrecher has produced a high class album, with danceable industrial of the first class and definitely a fair dose of invigorating sounds. I highly recommend it!

do you honestly call this unique? sounds to me like a shallow rip off of oomph on their latest (and imho worst) outputs..
