ACTUS: returns with album and concert

After years of silence ACTUS from Hungary returns. ACTUS will introduce its new studio album ‘Mandala’ at the 14th of May 2005. They will play at the Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig as co-headliner of the neofolk stage. The album will first be available on the festival at the Eis & Licht stand and afterwards also worldwide on the label Naturally Organised Elements.

The Hungarian band A.C.T.U.S., which stands for Archaic Cultural Traditions In a Society, was founded in Budapest in 1987. The last real album of this ritual folk/neoclassical act was as far as I know “Sacro Sanctum”, released on Cthulhu Records (1997). Furthermore Staalplaat released “Again and again” with material from 1988 and 1996.

The “Mandala” album was created between March 1998 and March 2005, in different Hungarian villages and towns. For the recording of the album the members of ACTUS collaborated with the Harmonia Caelesti mixed choir, conducted by Katalin V?gh, as well as vocalist Alexander R?dy.
