Dwight Ashley – Four

The new album by American ambient composer Dwight Ashley, after one other solo album and two collaborations with Tim Story. ‘Four” is certainly a pleasant listening experience. Almost an hour of rather ethereal, floating ambient music. An album with a poetic, filmic atmosphere. Lush electronic layers, soft drones and treated guitar sounds form a harmonic whole. The eleven tracks are often rather minimal, with an almost empty, cold feeling, but always very elegant. It’s easy to dream away while listening to “Four”. One of the better atmospheric ambient albums that I heard recently.
