Jasch – Shimmer

Shimmer is a CD full of highly abstract, and often high-pitched ambient drone based on the sounds of string instruments with elements of jazz-improvisation and hints of voices and other organic sources. The sounds are all quite haunting and would not be misplaces in a spooky psychological drama movie. The endless repetition of the delays and reverbs can be a bit annoying sometimes but also cause this unnerved horror-atmosphere. It makes me think of movie classics such as Psycho and The Omen (which I guess is a good thing).
