Moljebka Pvlse – Tamon

This new release by Moljebka Pvlse is quite a change from his other works. While ?Tamon? contains elements of the deep and meditative drones that Moljebka Pvlse is known for, it is also an experiment with noise. This is not entirely surprising, considering that the Segerhuva label has a strong tendency towards power electronics and full-out noise.

Tamon is a very remarkable work, in which subtle drones are mixed with an equally subtle use of the ?noise? concept. Although the tracks start out quite silently, the listener is soon treated to a nice dose of manipulated ?white noise? comparable to the likes of Merzbow. This, however, does not mean that it is an attempt to shock, or create something extreme. In fact although a lot of noise is used, it remains quite subtle and controlled.

Merzbow once mentioned that making noise and listening to noise could be used as a form of meditation. This idea seems to be reflected in the work of Tamon as well. Since Moljebka Pvlse?s other works have a strong tendency towards being meditative, this ?noise-stuff? fits in remarkably well.
