Strange to find a Belgian and French artists compilation on a US based label. Tête de Bébé is filled with the new wave of crazy and weird (post) punk / new wave acts that come from Belgium and France recently.
Most names on this records will ring a bell only for the well informed people I am afraid. But… if you are well informed this is a feast for sure. And, if not… then this is your change to become well informed.
Bands like Lawrence Wasser, Kania Tieffer, Volt, Cheveu and Le Club Des Chats all recorded good tracks for this compilation. Next to that this more then excellent gathering of like minded artists comes as a stylish piece of white vinyl. And, with a nice sleeve and informative insert.
Tête de Bébé shows the current state of interesting contemporary (post) punk and new wave bands. Most likely it is no coincidence that they are all from France and Belgium.
