Vision Bleak, The – Carpathia: a dramatic poem

I don’t like metal. Still the first album by The Vision Bleak was a record I could enjoy more or less. What you can expect on this second album is more of the same grotesque, theatrical, dark gothic influenced metal.

The first track on Carpathia is promising. A heavy orchestral piece with some martial percussion leads the way into the world of The Vision Bleak. After that the music becomes heavy metal with typical pounding drums, symphonic synth parts and heavy guitar riffs. It sounds all more slick and produced as on the first album. Also there is less variation.
For classic heavy metal fans this could be a good album but for anyone else it is just another metal record.
