today i saw a documentary which used the soundtrack by yann tiersen for the movie ‘le fabuleux destin d’amelie‘ as background music. nothing wrong with that, it is great music. i can imagine why this music is used to ernhance the atmosphere. but my objection is that the last months i hear ‘amelie’ music in virtually each tv program i watch, no matter on which channel… this overexposure makes this music become muzak which you hardly notice anymore… tv people, please be a little more creative! there is so much more fine music out there with great cinematic qualities….
