Tickets for the Dead Can Dance concert in The Hague have arrived. I have to be patient though, the concert will only take place in March. This will be the first time I see them perform live, though I did attend a Brendan Perry solo concert in Amsterdam. I was a bit surprised that tickets are so easily obtainable, because I have heard stories that previous concerts were sold-out in an hour or so.
In 1998 Dead Can Dance split after a fifteen year collaboration. Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry pursued solo careers, with especially Gerrard being succesful, with acclaimed soundtracks for films like ‘The Gladiator’ and ‘Whale Rider’. Lisa is enthousiastic about the reunion tour: ‘The lineup of musicians is absolutely phenomenal, actually it is better then that, this will without doubt be the Dead Can Dance concert to see and hear’.
