A new addition to the list of deceased pioneers. Bob Moog, who can be regarded as the inventor of synthesizers, died on August 21, aged 71.
Bob’s family has established The Bob Moog Foundation dedicated to the Advancement of Electronic Music in his memory. At moogmusic.com you can read everything about the man behind the machines. “Bob Moog?s namesake analog synthesizers have affected popular music in ways he might not have expected back in 1954 when he began building theremins with his father.” The BBC also has an extensive obituary.
