Usually I like my music dark. Nevertheless I visited a concert of The Polyphonic Spree. This American band looks like a religious sect or a hippie commune and sounds like a flowerpower musical or an updated Mamas and the Papas. Cheerful and psychedelic, orchestral and choral. Listen for instance to ‘Soldier girl‘ or ‘Hold me now‘. More than 20 people in long colourful dresses were on stage in Tivoli, Utrecht, jumping up and down with big smiles on their faces, spreading their positive message about love and hope.
