Island trade

just returned from a long weekend on the dutch isle texel. a few relaxing days full of wind, sheep and jutters (beachcombers).

i was surprised by the faith of the local people in the good nature of mankind. everywhere near the farms along the road you see little unattended stalls filled with flowers, vegetables, bulbs and pumpkins. you can take what you want and leave yoor money in a small case.

near the village den hoorn i even encountered a ‘book-shed’: it is filled with old books, and if you see one of your liking, you can take it with you and put a coin in a small hole in the wall in return. i circled the whole island, but unfortunately i did not come across a record-shed…
