Most critics seem to agree that the best thing about the movie ‘Marie Antoinette’ is its lavish visual style. The costume drama, directed by Sofia Coppola, also has a controversial soundtrack.
Instead of using period music, she chose to represent the decadence of the French aristocracy at Versailles by New Romantic sounds and other 80’s music. So it’s possible that the movie contains a large ball scene, accompanied by the tones of ‘Hong Kong Garden’.
Apart from Siouxsie, you may hear Gang of Four, Bow Wow Wow, The Cure, Adam & the Ants and New Order. But also more contemporary artists are featured in ‘Marie Antoinette’, like Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Air and The Strokes.
