Germany’s electronic music pioneer Kraftwerk will release an updated version of its classic song “Tour de France” in honour of the race’s centenary. This year marks also the 20th anniversary of the Kraftwerk single of 1983. The cd-single will feature 4 versions, the 12″ contains three of them.
The album “Tour de France 03” is set for release on July 21. It features the new recordings of ?Tour De France 03?, 3 or 4 new compositions and a new version of the original ?Tour De France? from 1983. The album has a cycling theme throughout and should be seen as a “special project” as much as a new Kraftwerk album and almost as the “soundtrack” to the Tour de France race.
Kraftwerk have also supplied Eurosport with some cycling jingles.
