Bandname and cover hint at a militant approach. The music does not sound very aggressive though. The two tracks on this single have more of a ritual ambient style, in the direction of Inade. Combative Alignment also released an LP on Loki, entitled “The ritez of higher communication”.
A single with two dark soundscapes with a estranging atmosphere, enhanced by the spoken wartime words on ‘Fear’, which gradually disppear in the background. The hypnotic music gets thicker and denser, with multiple layered drones almost overwhelming me when listening with my headphones. ‘Loathing’ contains the well-known sample from ‘Fear and loathing in las Vegas’: “You can turn your back on a person, but, never turn your back on a drug. Especially when it’s waving a razor-sharp hunting knife in your eye”, which was also used by Velvet Acid Christ.
A impressive single by Combative Alignment, with intense, solemn and very dark soundscapes.
