Dawn Visitors, The – Hybridize

The Belgian band The Dawn Visitors has been around since the late 90’s. They released two albums and played at various large festivals. Singer Roxane even has a longer musical career, having played in new wave and gothic acts like De Volanges. On this new EP not much of this background can be found. The four songs on ‘Hybridize’ aim at the modern electronic dancefloors, with a sound somewhere between trance, dark techno and future pop. The most original feature are the vocals by Roxane, which remind more of wave acts like Deal Souls Rising. The music is catchy and rather straightforward and simple. It’s not bad, but I’m not sure if this release will attract much attention between the flood of electronic music that we’re being drowned with nowadays.
