At the moment many new deathrock, batcave and post-punk releases see the light. From France comes Jacquy Bitch, a band with a cult status. Their music is a combination of old style batcave guitar music with a modern touch. Most of the tracks are basically dark rock songs like ‘Nico’, ‘Derive’ and the potential clubhit ‘Cimetiere’.
I don’t think this album is a 100% convincing. The music sounds too much as genre music to me. There is really nothing new to it. Besides that, even in its genre I have heard better releases lately. Also the songs are not always worked out very well. Maybe it is also due to the production of this album, because it sounds very mechanical.
Anyway, I guess it is still a nice record for the die hard fans of the genre.
