Sleep Museum from Brooklyn, New York, is getting more and more exposure lately. Dreams Of Waking is his debut album. With his side project After The Snow the musician was also present on Electronic Renaissance from Enfant Terrible. More of his work is planned to be released both under the Sleep Museum as the After The Snow aliases.
Back to this debut record: the LP consists of ten minimal wave tracks with a moody touch. The rhythms are often somewhat in the back to make room for the pulsating synths sounds. Also the singing is quite prominent in the mix.
In a way the music of Sleep Museum refers to early Death In June but also to the sounds and moods of Trisomie 21 and Siglo XX. For fans of authentic sounding minimal synth wave this is a record to check out for sure.
