Is it folk? That is one thing you might ask yourself after listening to this record. Tenhi plays progressive rock with folk influences as they claim themselves. Don’t think the worst of this: no slick progrock here but atmospheric music to listen to with a mysterious touch.
The Finnish singing and subtle violin melodies create a wonderful mood. Never during this record the music is real authentic folk music. Maaäet sounds more like a very tranquil version of early My Dying Bride. But, it is a beautiful album that will please people who like relaxing melancholy music.
