Victims Shudder, The – Sonic Torture Methods

This cd has a striking cover (details of Bosch paintings) and over half an hour of chilling minimal soundscapes. Sonic Torture Methods is the debut album from this U.S. dark ambient project. The music is quite tranquil and subtle, but very creepy. There are strange sounds, dark industrial electronic noises, solitary piano passages and strangily distorted female voices. Listening to this album gives me a feeling of isolation and voidness. Very cold and intense and quite special. I expect to hear more from this act in the future. According to the label God is Myth Records the cd is sold out already, but it will probably still be carried by some mailorders.
