“Orpheus” (1865) from Gustave Moreau, a French Symbolist painter (1826-1898).

Orpheus was the son of Apollo and the Muse Calliope. His father gave him a a lyre and he taught to play upon it, which he did with such perfection that nobody could withstand the charm of his music.
